A hard but beautiful tour along the eastern flank of the Orotava Valley, which you will cross twice. The first kilometres and metres of altitude follow the same route as the Acentejo Cross Tour.
Then you will dive into a mixed laurel and pine forest, which is the only one of its kind on the island. From time to time you will need to take out scissors to control the brambles and low branches. You will pass by the holy tree that gives this tour its name (“árbol santa” is Spanish for holy tree). It is an ancient, twisted pine tree where we will stop to take photos and rest a little. This stop is then followed by a climb to the highest point of the tour at approximately 1500 metres above sea level. A rapid descent following trails will take you directly to La Caldera where you will stop to eat and quench your thirst. This very special place will also serve you homemade Canarian food and you’re sure to find something to suit your tastes. With renewed energy you will then cross the Orotava Valley heading west. On the western flank of the valley, formed after a giant landslide, is a pleasant descent to La Corona. You will re-join civilisation and cross the valley again via secondary roads with little traffic, continuing until your return to our base in La Paz.
